Mayor Michael Nutter greeted Jamie McKnight, Director of Teens 4 Good during the first Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Teens 4 Good will be at City Hall every Wednesday from 12 to 3 pm, so stop by, say hello, and purchase some fresh produce!

If you think you've seen Jamie McKnight before, chances are you probably have.

McKnight has been in the news quite a bit recently. She is part of Teens 4 Good, a social  youth entrepreneurship program building long-term, working relationships with promising students attending Philadelphia’s public high schools. T4G is a program of the Federation of Neighborhood Centers. The organization was honored this past spring by the Philadelphia Phillies with a City of Champions Award, during their week-long Paint the Town Red celebration prior to Opening Day 2009. The Phillies were honoring nine community members  who really make a difference, and T4G was recognized as one of them. Read More

Some of the best produce in the city can be found growing in the most unlikely of places. Thanks to the Teens4Good program, which was started in the spring of 2005 and is operated by affiliates of the Federation of Neighborhood Centers, community youngsters are turning lots that were once the victims of blight into vegetables gardens comparable to those in rural areas.
